Essential Info

Age, ID and Tickets

All events are +18 unless otherwise stated. No ID, no entry. We accept valid passports and photo driving licenses including provisional licenses and National ID Cards. We do not accept photocopies or photographs of ID.

Tickets purchased online can be found via the confirmation email.  Please have your tickets ready upon entry as this will help ensure entry into the venue is as quick as possible.

Search Policy

When visiting The Steel Yard, it is within our legal rights and a condition of entry that all customers agree to be searched prior to entry and throughout the duration of their attendance at the venue if deemed necessary.  All searches on person and your possessions are conducted for our own safety.  Customers will only be searched by a gender of choice.  By declining to be searched we have the right to refuse entry. Our entry policy does not allow glass bottles, sharp objects, illegal substances or liquids into the venue.

Cloak room and lost property

The Steel Yard has cloakroom facilities on site.  The cost is £2 per item, and we accept cash only. If you have left something behind, please email us at info@thesteelyard.london with a description of the item including the name and date of the event you attended.  Any items not collected after 4 weeks will be donated to charity.

Payment Facilities

We accept Amex, Mastercard and Visa. We do not have an ATM on site but the nearest one is only a 3-minute walk away at Dowgate Hill.

Dress code

We have a casual dress code, jeans and trainers are allowed.

Ear Safety

Our Nova Soundsystem can really generate some noise!  If you are concerned about your hearing, we provide free ear plugs which you can ask for at the bar.

Smoking

We have an outside smoking area.

Last Entry

Last entry to the venue is at 5pm for daytime events and 3am for club evening events.

Welfare

If you feel unwell during an event or see anyone who looks like they need assistance, please contact a member of staff who are trained to help.  We do not judge and will always look after you. We have a medic on site during club nights should you require medical assistance.

Prescription Medication

If you need to bring prescription medication or medical equipment with you, please let us know in advance by emailing info@thesteelyard.london.  If you are unable to let us know in advance, then any medication / equipment will be taken from you and kept safely in the manager’s office.  Any medication must be clearly labelled with your name and what the medication is.  If you require a quiet space to administer medication, we can provide that.

Drugs

We have a zero-tolerance policy on drugs, and anybody found in possession will be removed from the venue and could face further action.

Accessibility

The ground floor of the Steel Yard is step free with a fully accessible bar and toilet.  The toilet facilities have a handrail and are big enough to accommodate a large wheelchair. Unfortunately we do not have a designated seating area or viewing area but If you require somewhere to sit or need any assistance, please contact us ahead of your arrival by emailing info@thesteelyard.london so we can arrange this for you.

Personal assistants

We offer free entry to PA’s for deaf and disabled customers who can only attend with the support of someone.  Please contact info@thesteelyard.london prior to the event you are attending so we can arrange this for you.

Photosensitive epilepsy

Most of our events contain strobe / flashing lights, if you would like further information regarding the event that you are attending please contact info@thesteelyard.london

Covid 19

Covid Passports and proof of a negative test result

In line with the Government Guidelines, a Covid Passport or proof of a negative test result will not be a condition of entry. However, we strongly recommend all customers to take a test prior to attending any events at the Steel Yard.

Artists are taking tests to protect you.  Staff are taking a test to protect you.  #takeatest

As well as taking regular tests, we will also be encouraging our staff to continue to wear appropriate PPE.

Cleaning and Ventilation

We have a robust cleaning policy in place which includes all high touch surfaces treated with Nordic Chem Antimicrobial Coating which lasts for 80 days, toilets will be checked hourly and hand sanitiser stations available throughout the building.

The venue is cleaned thoroughly after each event.

Our ventilation system pumps 13 litres of air per second, per person in the venue.

Masks

For the safety of our staff and fellow customers, we encourage you to wear masks when visiting the toilets, however, this is not mandatory requirement.
